COVID-19 Lockdown: Ambulance caught ferrying passengers in Odisha

Rayagada: Amidst the COVID-19 lockdown,  an ambulance was caught ferrying seven persons in Rayagada district today. The police detained eight persons,including the driver,  for violating the lockdown norms.

Sources said the seven persons were travelling from Odagaon of Nayagarh to Damanjodi of Koraput district in a vehicle which broke down midway.  Halted for some time, they later found an ambulance passing by. They stopped the vehicle and rented it to reach Damanjodi.

While they were crossing Rayagada, police personnel, who were conducting patrolling, intercepted the ambulance and detained all of them, including driver Laxmi Narayan Senapati.
