COVID-19: MLA Moquim begins awareness drive; distributes masks & sanitizers

Cuttack: While people of the state are rushing out to buy face masks and sanitizers to keep themselves safe from the highly infectious coronavirus, Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moquim today visited busy lanes in Ward-17 of his constituency and distributed the essential items among the public.

Expressing deep concern for possible spread of COVID-19 in the state, Moquim encouraged the citizens to be alert and adopt healthy practices in order to tackle the deadly virus. He began the distribution drive from Ward 17 today and will continue the same in other areas of his constituency in coming days.

“I personally visited different localities in my constituency and distributed face masks along with hand sanitizers. I also urged them to keep their surrounding clean and hygienic,” said Moquim.

In another joint awareness drive, the Commissionerate Police and Khan Nagar Youth Association members distributed masks among people near Badambadi Bus Stand and sensitized them about necessary precautions to fight back COVID 19.

“Thousands of people commute to/from Badambadi Bus Stand. They are highly prone to the virus. Through this programme,  we aim to make the locals aware of the preventives to save them from coming in contact with coronavirus,” said a member the association.
