COVID-19: Puri admin declares Narendrakona area as containment zone

Puri: The district administration today announced a containment zone in Narendrakona and ward No. 21 & 22 of Puri Town after a COVID-19 case was detected.

As the Empowered Officer under Section 2(1) of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, Puri Collector Balwant Singh declared Grand Road Market Chhak to Akhaya Patra Lane Grand Road, Puri via Narendrakona Lane, Narendrakona Chhak, Bramha Jaga Mahavir Temple Chhak (Ward No. 21 & 22) as a containment zone.

The shutdown period is effective from 7AM of 18.05.2020 to until further orders.

Official sources said no public shall be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants in the area will not be allowed to move out. All the inhabitants within the containment zone will strictly remain in home.

All the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature should be closed immediately. The supply of essential commodities and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams under the direction of the Executive Officer, Puri Municipality, Puri.

All the government and private Institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone will remain closed.
