COVID-19: Puri’s Danagahir village under complete shutdown for 10 days

Puri:  Taking cognizance of detection of first COVID-19 positive case in Puri, the district administration today declared a complete shutdown for 10 days in Danagahir village under Pipili block to combat spread of the deadly virus.

The complete shutdown came into effect from 7 am today and will remain in force till April 14 midnight.

Earlier in the day, administrative officials visited the affected area and declared it as a containment zone and sealed it in larger public interest.  The area coming within the boundary of Danagahir Chhak, Jayapur Chhak and Jayapur Sasan Chhak has been declared as the containment zone.  Accordingly,   public will be restricted from entering into and going out of the zone till April 14. All Government and private institutions in the area will remain closed.

Though, all shops and business establishments will remain shut in the area, the Sub-Collector will ensure supply of few essential items and medical requirements to households through various teams, said a communique issued by Collector Balwant Singh.

Worth mentioning, a person of Danagohir village under Pipili block in the district was tested COVID-19 positive yesterday. He had attended the Nizamuddin event in Delhi last month.
