COVID-19 tally surpasses 3000-mark in Bhubaneswar; 17 more infected in potato godown

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally crossed 3000-mark in Bhubaneswar with 89 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Of fresh cases, 65 cases have been detected from quarantine centres and 24 are local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 3068 with 1250 active cases in Bhubaneswar.

It seems like the potato godown (Alugadi) at Aiginia on outskirts of Bhubaneswar is in clutches of the coronavirus as 17 more persons including a woman linked with an earlier positive case have contracted the infection.

Besides, 5 more women linked with a previous positive case at a slum in Bhubaneswar have been found positive for COVID-19.

Moreover, total 1798 persons infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease in the State capital as on August 2. The deadly virus has claimed 18 lives in the city so far.
