COVID-19 test, home quarantine mandatory for Maharashtra, Gujarat returnees in Ganjam

Berhampur: Keeping in view the resurgence of COVID cases in various states, Ganjam district administration today made RT-PCR test or seven-day home quarantine mandatory for people returning from hotspot states.

“People returning from hotspot states like Maharashtra and Gujarat will have to either show their recent RT-PCR test report or stay in seven-day home quarantine,” informed Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange  today.

Besides, the Collector requested organisers of the famous Budhi Thakurani Jatra and Danda Nacha not to invite Prabasi Odias (non-resident Odias) to attend the annual festivals.

“If we see large number of attendees at the festivals, we will have to withdraw the permission that has been given for holding of the events,” the Collector cautioned.

He reiterated that public congregation will not be allowed on Holi and Dola Melan. However,  people can celebrate the festivals staying indoors.
