COVID crisis: Odisha proposes Centre for installation of PSA oxygen plants in hospitals

Bhubaneswar: As part of initiative to save lives of critical COVID patients, Odisha Government has sent a proposal to the Centre for installation of PSA oxygen plants at medical colleges & hospitals and district headquarters hospitals in the State.

In a letter to Ravi Kumar Arora, Director of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Odisha Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra wrote that the State Government will make provision and construct the medical gas pipeline system (MGPS) in those institutions where the oxygen plant is not currently available.

On Saturday, Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had urged Union Health Ministry seeking Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan’s personal intervention in allocation of 19 more PSA oxygen plants in 15 districts in addition to 21 oxygen plants being set up in Odisha.
