COVID situation under control in Jagatsinghpur: Central team after review

Jagatsinghpur: The two-member central team which reached Odisha yesterday to review COVID-19 situation and its management in the state, visited Jagatsinghpur district today.

The team consisting of Dr Shibani Dutta and Dr A Dan along with state health official Dr Prashant Raghav Mahapatro and Jagatsinghpur Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Bijaya Panda, among others officials visited the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here and took stock of the situation.

They further visited the vaccination centre and isolation centre at the DHH and discussed with officials regarding COVID management system in the district.

After reviewing, Dr Shibani Dutta, Professor in the Department of Public Health Administration at All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health in Kolkata said, “the situation is under control here. Positivity rate is declining. We have discussed with the CDMO and other officials regarding the problems they are facing. They appraised us about the need of more specialized doctors for the hospital.”

“COVID-19 is on a declining trend in our district. The team is satisfied with our management process. We have also increased the number of tests. Vaccination process is also running smoothly. We are managing everything in adherence with the state’s COVID management protocols,” informed the CDMO.

She further informed that the team will visit COVID hospital in Paradip today.

Earlier yesterday, the central team visited various COVID hospitals in Bhubaneswar and reviewed the situation. They also held a meeting with top health officials of the state.
