Covid: Thermal screening mandatory for passengers at rly stations, airports in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Amid reports of sudden rise in Covid-19 cases in many states of the country, the Odisha government today directed district administrations, Municipal Commissioners, Airport Directors and the East Coast Railways to make arrangements for thermal screening of all passengers and on-site Rapid Antigen Test of those symptomatic.

Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra, in a letter, asked the authorities to undertake thermal screening of passengers disembarking at airports and railways stations coming from 12 states, namely Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

If any passenger is found having symptoms or fever will be tested by the Rapid Antigen Test on site. If found positive, the concerned passenger will be put in isolation and treated as per the protocol, the letter mentioned.
