CP beefs up security in Odisha capital for Holi

Bhubaneswar: To avoid any untoward incident during celebration of Holi, the festival of colours, the Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for tomorrow.

Sources said a total of 16 platoons of police force will be deployed and 17 PCR vans will be engaged for patrolling in the state capital tomorrow, said DCP Anup Sahoo here today.

The DCP also advised to take precautionary measures while playing with the colours. He further said that cops will keep an eye on overspeeding, drunken driving and eve-teasing during the Holi celebrations tomorrow.

Meanwhile Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has said that he will not celebrate Holi this year as a part of precautionary measures against spread of coronavirus. He will not attend any Holi celebrations to avoid mass gathering, which has also been advised by the state Government to avoid the risk of getting infected by the virus.
