CRPF Constable held for swindling Rs 8.39 lakh from Senior’s account

Bhubaneswar: A Constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was arrested and forwarded to the court today on charges of cheating a Sub Inspector of the paramilitary force in Bhubaneswar.

Based on a complaint filed by the CRPF Sub Inspector, the Nayapalli Police arrested the accused Constable, Priyabrata Priyadarsana Pati from Kalapada of Cuttack district.

According to the complaint, the Constable was engaged to take care of the Sub Inspector who had been unwell. As the officer could not go to the ATM kiosk due to his illness, he gave his ATM card to Pati to help him get the cash.

When the Sub Inspector came to know about the withdrawal, he lodged an FIR at the Nayapalli police station.
