CRPF jawan shoots himself in Odisha

Bhanjanagar, Aug 15:

A CRPF jawan in a camp in Odisha committed suicide by shooting himself dead with a fellow jawan’s gun, reports said.

The CRPF jawan identified as K. A. Narayan, a native from Coochbehar in neighbouring West Bengal, killed himself today using a colleague’s rifle at the Gajalbadi camp of the central para military force under Sorada block in Ganjam district, reports said.

The reason behind the jawan committing suicide is yet to be ascertained. Unofficial sources, however, said the deceased jawan was under terrible mental pressure owing to operations in a difficult terrain with rains adding to the miseries.
