Curfew relaxed for 10 hours in Odisha’s Bhadrak

With situation getting better day by day at violence-hit Bhadrak town in Odisha, the curfew was today relaxed by the district administration for 10 hours from 7 am to 5 pm.

The prohibitory orders were yesterday relaxed for 9 hours from 7 am to 4 pm and reimposed from 4 pm.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had yesterday visited Bhadrak to review the situation in the town.

Ordering for assessment of the damages within 3 days, Patnaik had said that full compensation will be paid to the people affected in the violence.

After the Chief Minister’s visit, the state government yesterday shunted out district’s Superintendent of Police (SP) and Additional District Magistrate (ADM).

Notably, the communally-sensitive Bhadrak town was on boil after some inflammatory posts were posted on social networking site leading to tension between two communities.
