CWC to rope in CLAP to assist public prosecutor against Papu Pom Pom

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Khurda has sought to rope in Cuttack based CLAP Legal Service Institute to assist the public prosecutor and strengthen the casting couch and sexual exploitation case against Odisha’s actor-turned-politician Papu Pom Pom in the High Court.

“The public prosecutor will fight the case on behalf of the CWC. We had appealed to CLAP Legal Service Institute – an association of High Court advocates – pertaining to this case. We have given them authorization to contest the case on behalf of the victim in the High Court,” said CWC member Benudhar Senapati speaking to reporters today.

According to CLAP’s website, the Legal Service Institute managed by CLAP, the acronym of Committee for Legal Aid to Poor, is a Non-Governmental Voluntary Organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (Act XXII of 1860) of India. It is a legal service and advocacy organisation, which seeks to accomplish freedom, liberty, justice, equity and fair play for every individual in the society.
