Cyclone Amphan: 1-YO boy dies in wall collapse in Odisha

Bhadrak: In an unfortunate incident, a one-year-old child died in wall collapse following heavy wind under the impact of cyclonic storm Amphan at Dakhinapari village under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district today.

The deceased was the son of one Balaram Das.

Sources said the child was standing in front of the house when his mother was busy in household work this morning. Unfortunately, a wall of their thatched house collapsed and fell on him due to heavy wind. The kid died on the spot.

Worth mentioning, squally wind accompanied with heavy rain has wreaked havoc in Bhadrak district. Many roads, including Bhadrak-Chandbali, Bhadrak-Basudevpur and Bansada-Dhamara roads have been blocked with uprooted trees.

Chandbali block in the district recorded wind speed of 70 kmph and received 75.2 mm rainfall by 9.30 AM today, said the regional MeT centre in Bhubaneswar.
