Cyclone FANI: +2 exam papers evaluation suspended in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The evaluation of annual plus two examination answer sheets will be suspended for extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI that is expected to hit Odisha coast tomorrow.

The evaluation of the exam papers will be closed in the districts likely to be affected by the cyclone on May 3, informed Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Deputy Examination Controller Prasant Das.

Further decision will be taken after reviewing the cyclone situation.

However, evaluation of the answer sheets will continue in other districts, he said.

Notably, the cyclone FANI has intensified into extremely severe cyclonic storm over westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is likely to make early landfall between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm on May 3 in Puri district with maximum sustained wind speed of 170-180 kmph gusting to 200 kmph.

The cyclone is being tracked by Doppler Weather Radars Vishakhapatnam and Machilipatnam.
