Bhubaneswar: Ever since the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted about the formation of a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal, several regional news websites in Odisha have seemingly been posting articles regarding the weather system with 'misleading' headlines.

Such posts have left the readers confused while many of them are seeking genuine information from reliable sources.

Despite being trolled and criticized by the readers on social media, the websites have not refrained from posting such articles.

It is quite evident that the sole purpose of the news websites in publishing the articles is to garner pageviews through 'unfair' means.

Instead of relying on such websites, readers can get authentic information in connection with the upcoming cyclone or any other cyclones in the future on the official website of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

How to get correct information

  1. Visit IMD's official website mausam.imd.gov.in
  2. Select 'Cyclone Information' section by clicking 'Read More'.
