Cyclone over BoB not to have direct impact on Odisha: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The depression over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours. However, the system will have no direct impact on Odisha, said Regional Meteorological Centre today.

However, some rainfall activity with isolated heavy rainfall likely to occur in some districts of south Odisha during 25th-26th November, it forecasted.

November 25: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Ganjam, Kandhamal and at isolated places over rest districts of south Odisha.

November 26: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Ganjam, Nabarangpur and at a few places over rest districts of south Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati.

The system is likely to cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram around 25th November afternoon as a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph.
