Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Nov 6:

A cyclonic storm likely to be formed in the next 24 hours will trigger moderate rainfall in Odisha on Saturday and Sunday around its landfall time. There will, however, be no rainfall in the next 24 hours, the local Met Centre said in its afternoon bulletin today.

TC05b“The depression over central Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards during past six hours, intensified into a Deep Depression and lay centred at 8.30 AM today over the central Bay of Bengal, 700 km south-southeast of Paradip,” the bulletin said.

“It would move northwestwards and intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hrs. It would then move west-northwestwards towards Andhra Pradesh coast. It would weaken gradually into a depression while reaching near the coast on 8th November night,” the bulletin informed.

The Met Centre has advised to keep Distant Cautionary Signal Number One (DC-I) hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.

Gusty surface wind reaching a speed of 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph would prevail along and off Odisha coast, it warned while advising fishermen to be cautious while venturing into sea and asking those out at sea along and off Odisha coasts to return to the coast immediately.
