Dacoit involved in attack on police injured in encounter

Puri, Apr 13:
One miscreant was critically injured in a police encounter at Kanthapur-Balipatha in Odisha’s Puri district today.
Police had to resort to firing when a special squad of the district police was attacked by miscreants, sources said.
Reports said, the icident happened when a special squad was on its way to nab the miscreants who had attacked a police party on Saturday in Dobandha injuring Chandanpur IIC, Girija Patnaik and six others including three other policemen.
When the special squad zeroed in on the miscreants, they hurled country made bombs at  the police team which fired in retaliation injuring one Dhadu Mahapatra who was allegedly involved in Saturday’s incident.
Dhadu has sustained bullet injury on his left leg. He has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack as his condition was critical, sources said.
