Deer found injured on city road in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In an unusual incident, a deer was found lying on road in Odisha capital in an injured state, today.

Passersby spotted the animal near OMFED Chhak here as it was bleeding. Later, a PCR van reached the spot and rescued the deer.

The animal was reportedly injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. It has sustained fracture on its leg and critical injuries on horn.

On being informed, a team of the Forest Department rushed to the place and initiated the treatment of the injured deer.

It will take around 21 days for the deer to walk properly, a veterinary doctor said.

On the other hand, locals were surprised over the presence of the deer in the urban and highly populated area.
