Defeated ward member killed in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput, Feb 20:

A defeated ward member candidate was found dead with throat slit at his residence in Bandhugaon block in Koraput district of Odisha.

 

The deceased was identified as Kameswar Palaka. He was killed while he was sleeping at his house.

The cause behind the murder is yet to be known.

The family alleged the political link behind death of Palaka.

A case has been filed against five persons including opponent ward member candidate Ranganath Wateka, who won the panchayat poll, alleging their involvement in the murder.

Palaka contested for the ward member seat in ward number 1 of Kanagaon village in the ongoing panchayat polls.
