Bhubaneswar: A depression formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal this evening while the system is likely to intensify into Cyclone ‘Jawad’ during the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The well marked low pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal concentrated into a depression at 5.30 PM today, the agency said.

The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast BoB moved W-NWwards, concentrated into a Depression & lay centered at 1730 hrs IST of today,over southeast BoB near Lat. 11.0°N &Long. 89.0°E, abt 960 km S-SEof Vishakhapatnam, 1020 km S-SE of Gopalpur & 1060 km S-SE of Paradip.

“The system is likely to move west-northwestward and intensify into a cyclonic storm on 3rd December. It is likely to reach west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh–south Odisha coasts around 4th December morning. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve north-northeastwards gradually,” the IMD forecasted.
