Depression: Red Warning issued for 4 coastal Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued Red Warning for four districts of Odisha–Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore– in view of the depression over northwest and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal, which is likely to intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hours.

The system is very likely to move north-northeastwards and cross West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh coasts as a deep depression between Sagar islands (West Bengal) and Khepupara (Bangladesh) over Sundarbans by 23rd October afternoon.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore, the Meteorological Centre forecasted.

Squally weather with wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph is likely along the area of coastline over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore, it said.
