Dharmendra urges Naveen to expedite Rourkela Smart City projects

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has written to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging the latter to expedite the projects under the Rourkela Smart City Limited (RSL).

Mentioning that Rourkela’s progress in the Smart City Project is a matter of great concern, Dharmendra said in the letter that Government of India and Government of Odisha have sanctioned Rs 376 crore (Rs 188 crore each) to RSL from 2015-16 to 2017-18, but only Rs 22.23 crore has been expended.

“It is unfortunate that four years since the sanction of grants from the Central and the State Government, RSL has not been able to show significant progress in the project,” he wrote.

Pradhan has requested Patnaik for personal intervention in speeding up progress of the projects.
