More than 18 students, suffering from the disease after eating food from the hostel canteen since Saturday, have been admitted to the Sorada hospital.

According to reports, some of the high school students, residing in the school hostel, complained of stomach pain and showed symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting after eating the canteen food on Saturday night.

They were taken to Gazalbadi hospital. But as there was no doctor at the hospital, the students were later shifted to Sorada hospital where some of them were discharged after primary treatment.

Seven girl students, who were asked to sign the register before getting admitted to hospital, had to miss their HSC examination in the process.

The Hostel Superintendent could not be contacted as his mobile phone was out of reach.
