Dileshwar Sahu murder: BJP leader Jaya Narayan Mishra deposes in court

Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly Jaya Narayan Mishra today deposed before the Special Additional District Judge (III) here in connection with three cases, including the murder of Dileshwar Sahu during Bijepur by election in Bargarh district in 2018.

These three cases were earlier shifted to the Special Additional District Judge (III) court here from the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class at Sohela in Bargarh district.

The Orissa High Court had earlier granted bail to Mishra in connection with the three cases. He deposed before the Special Additional District Judge (III) here as the HC had directed him to depose before the lower court for regular bail.

Notably, Dileshwar was killed in a firing incident at Bijepur on February 22, 2018. He was then working as the driver of an influential BJD leader’s brother.

Mishra and 11 others were arrested in connection with the incident.
