Dirty chairs for media persons at Red Fort

New Delhi, Aug 15:

Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on cleanliness Friday, chairs placed for media persons at the Independence Day event at the Red Fort were dusty and dirty — and rusty too.

The nuts and nails in the steel frame were rusted.

The mediapersons used their handkerchiefs to clean the chairs. Some wiped them clean with the invitation cards issued to cover the event.

To add to the woes, the chairs were kept on an uneven ground with potholes, which meant that people had a tough time finding a comfortable position to sit.

The fact that the chairs were tied together with a thin steel wire, making them impossible to move, made matters worse.
