Door-To-Door Health Screening begins in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: The Ganjam administration today commenced a mega health screening program in the district in view of the COVID-19 situation. More than 3.5 lakh families will be covered under the campaign through door-to-door health screening in each household.

The campaign will continue till June 12. As per official sources, Gram Panchayats will be divided into units having 700 households and each unit will be assigned to a team consisting of local teacher/AWW/Health Worker/ANM for health screening. The team will visit each household of the specified area and conduct the thermal screening of each individual/member of that household.

If any symptomatic person is found during health screening, the information will be immediately transmitted to the concerned RRT. On the same day, the concerned RRT will visit the house of symptomatic person and undertake a detailed medical check-up of all the members of the family. If the RRT feels that the person might have COVID-19 symptoms, then the RRT will refer the person to the nearest COVID Care Centre with a detailed referral note, sources said.

Once the symptomatic suspect case is referred to COVID Care Centre, the Nodal Medical Officer will conduct a thorough check-up of the person and report the findings to the office of the CDM & PHO, Ganjam, sources added.
