Double Murder: Former Odisha MLA taken on 3-day remand

Jharsuguda: The Raigarh Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) today allowed the Chakradhar Nagar Police to take former Brajrajnagar MLA Anup Sai on a three-day remand. Anup was arrested by the Raigarh Police on February 13 in a double murder case of 2016.

As per reports, the police had prayed before the court for a seven-day remand of Anup for interrogation and narco analysis test. But the CJM has not taken a decision on Narco test of the former legislator.

Also, the court granted one-day remand of Bardhan Toppo, driver of the former MLA. Bardhan was arrested on February 14 in connection with the case.

The court directed the Raigarh police to produce Anup before it on February 22.

Earlier in the day, Anup and Bardhan was brought to the court amid tight security.
