Trailokya and Sabyasachi were granted anticipatory bail in the case of allegedly giving life threats to Lopamudra, sources said. She had filed a complaint at the Badagada police station here alleging of receiving threats to her life on Facebook and WhatsApp. Earlier, Lopamudra had lodged a complaint with the same police station that some unidentified youths had barged into the Tankapani Road residence of her parents where she is currently residing and had threatened to kill her and kidnap her son.

The father-son duo had sought anticipatory bail from the Orissa High Court on June 15. The bail applications were filed by their counsel Siddheswar Mohanty.

Notably, Lopamudra, besides levelling charges of physical and mental torture for dowry against Sabyasachi and his family members, had alleged that her husband forced her to go for wife-swapping during a trip to Port Blair.

The complainant had further alleged that she was subjected to torture on numerous occasions. The woman had approached an NGO seeking intervention. When the attempts to sort out the issue failed, she moved the Mahila police on May 10. A case under Section 498 A and 506 of IPC has been registered with Mahila police.

Worth mentioning, Sabyasachi is the son of industrialist Trailokya Mishra and Deputy Managing Director of Nayagarh Sugar Complex Limited (NSCL). The estranged couple had got married in 2006.
