Dreaded criminal injured in police encounter in Odisha

Berhampur, Feb 16:

Dreaded criminal Jogi Goud was injured in a police encounter at Marda Square under Polasara police station in Ganjam district of Odisha last night.

Jogi sustained bullet injuries on his left leg and was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

According to reports, Polasara police, acting on a tip-off, had waited at Marda Square to nab the criminal.

After spotting the cops, Jogi tried to flee the spot by firing at the former following which police retaliated by firing back in which a bullet hit his left leg.

A bike, a mauser and three live bullets have been seized from the possession of Jogi, a resident of Arjunapalli village in Kabisuryanagar block of the district.

More than 15 cases are pending against him at various police stations including those of dacoity, attempt to murder and firing. He was wanted by Ganjam, Khordha and Twin City Commissionerate Police.
