Driver dies as truck overturns in Odisha’s Sundargarh dist

The driver of a 12 wheeler truck died after the truck overturned at Tensa area in Odisha’s Sundargarh district in the wee hours of Saturday. Police have conducted autopsy of the deceased driver and have handed over his body to his family members.

Sources said the iron laden 12 wheeler truck (No.OD-09A-3596), which was on its way to Tensa, overturned at Tensa area following which the driver fell off his seat and was crushed under the vehicle. He was rushed to Koira hospital in a critical condition, but doctors declared him brought dead.

After getting the information, Lahunipada police went to the spot and seized the truck. The deceased driver has been identified as Rusia Gadmajhi (35), a resident of Keonjhar district.

“After conducting autopsy, the body has been handed over to his family members.We have seized the truck and are now investigating the case,” said R.K.Sahoo, IIC, Lahunipada police station.
