Drunk man hacks father to death for opposing his liquor consumption in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A man allegedly hacked his father to death after the latter objected to his regular liquor consumption. The shocking incident took place at Sanakanti village under Pipili police limits in Odisha’s Puri district, last night.

The deceased was identified as Hrushikesh Pradhan (60). Police have detained accused Jeetu Pradhan for questioning.

According to reports, Jeetu used to harass and assault his parents as he had been demanding money from them to buy liquor.

On the fateful night, Jeetu came come in an inebriated state and had a feud with his parents.

The matter turned violent as he lost his cool and hacked his father to death with an axe.

On being informed by villagers, police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation.

A murder case has been registered in this connection.
