Drunk pharmacist molests woman at nursing home in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A woman was allegedly molested at a private nursing home by a drunk staffer in Odisha’s Bhadrak town, last night.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the husband of the woman, Bhadrak Town police have arrested the accused, identified as Manoj Sahu (35), a pharmacist.

According to reports, the pregnant woman was admitted to the nursing home on September 17 and she gave birth to a baby boy, next day. Last night, the accused, who was in an inebriated state, entered the cabin where the woman was undergoing treatment and locked the door.

He allegedly touched the woman inappropriately besides groping and molesting her. The victim raised an alarm following which Manoj fled the spot. Later, police traced and apprehended him by tracking his mobile phone.

“I had gone to a medicine store for buying an injection prescribed for my wife. My mother-in-law was outside the cabin with the newborn. In the meantime, the accused misbehaved with my wife,” the woman’s husband said.

On the other hand, the nursing home authorities have dismissed Manoj from his job.
