Founder of KIIT & KISS Achyuta Samanta felicitated them in the presence of senior officials of KIIT Group of Institutions and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for their remarkable success.

“KIIT is proud to have such national and international players. It has always stressed on sports and given it importance at par with studies,” said Samanta and wished their success for upcoming Olympics.

While Dutee Chand and Amiya Mallick broke National Records in 100m sprint in women’s and men’s events respectively on Day 1 of Federation Cup, Amiya won the gold at the first leg of the Indian Grand Prix earlier this month.

Amiya was hand timed in the 100m final as having run the race in 10.09 seconds — the fastest ever by an Indian. Two national records were shattered with sprinter Dutee hogging the limelight on the opening day of the Federation Cup National Athletics Championships in New Delhi. She clocked 11.33 secs in women’s 100m dash to win.

Similarly, Aparajita Gochhikar has won silver medal in the women’s category in World Amateur Chess Championship held in Greece recently with a score of 6.5 points. Gochhikar also bagged bronze in the open category.
