ECoR to run special train for Ahmedabad to cope with winter rush

With a view to providing comfortable journey to the passengers during Christmas and the winter vacation and avoid heavy rush in regular trains running towards Ahmedabad, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has planned to run a pair of special trains from Puri to Ahmedabad via Brahmapur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam.

The 08401 Puri-Ahmedabad Special train will leave Puri at 0855 hours every Tuesday and arrive at Ahmedabad at 0330 hours on Thursday between December 24 and January 28.

In the return direction, the 08402 Ahmedabad-Puri Special train will leave Ahmedabad at 1800 hours every Thursday and arrive at Puri at 1045 hours on Saturday between December 26 and January 30.

The train, having 15 general second class coaches and two guard-cum-luggage vans, will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Balugaon, Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Duvvada under ECoR jurisdiction and will run via Samalkot, Vijayawada, Warangal, Ballarshah, Wardha, Bhusawal and Surat between Puri and Ahmedabad station, an ECoR release said on Monday.
