ECoR to add extra coaches in four Express trains

With a view to avoiding rush in regular trains, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to augment additional coaches permanently in Jodhpur, Sai Nagar Shirdi and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) bound trains from Puri and Chennai, and Nizamuddin and Sainagar Shirdi bound trains from Visakhapatnam from the first week of April this year.

As per an ECoR release today, 18473/18474 Puri-Jodhpur-Puri Express, 18407/18408 Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Puri Express, 22866/22865 Puri-LTT-Puri Express will be augmented with one additional AC-3 tier coach each permanently from both the directions and will run with 23 coaches respectively.

18503/18504 Visakhapatnam-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Visakhapatnam Express, 22869/22870 Visakhapatnam-Chennai-Visakhapatnam Express will be augmented with one AC-3 tier coach each from both the directions and will run with 19 coaches.

Apart from this, 12803/12804 & 12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Express will also be augmented with one AC-3 tier Coach each permanently from both the directions and will run with 23 coaches.

ECoR is also augmenting additional coaches temporarily in other important trains towards different destinations of the country from its jurisdiction according to feasibility and demands from the passengers. Based on an analysis of the Passenger Traffic Profile on various routes, temporary augmentation of coaches in several Express trains is being done by attaching additional coaches, the release added.

In another release today, ECoR said it will cancel train services due to safety related modernization work and doubling of rail track between Cuttack and Barang stations under Khordha Road Division from March 27 to April 4.

As per the release, 18414/18413 Puri-Paradeep-Puri Express will be cancelled from March 31 to April 4 from both the directions.

Besides, 22810 Visakhapatnam-Paradip Express scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam on March 29, 22814 Paradip-Santragachhi Express scheduled to leave Paradip on March 30, 22813 Santragachhi-Paradip Express scheduled to leave Santragachhi on March 31 and 22809 Paradip-Visakhapatnam Express scheduled to leave Paradip on April 1 will remain cancelled.

Apart from this, 58406/58405 and 78507/78508 Paradip-Cuttack-Paradip Passenger trains will remain cancelled from March 31 to April 4 from both the directions.
