ECoR to run winter special trains from Odisha

With a view to clearing additional rush of passengers during winter season, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run eight pairs of weekly and bi-weekly winter special trains towards different destinations of the country from its jurisdiction by creating more than one lakh eighty thousand additional berths.

These trains are Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Cant. bi-weekly Super Fast Suvidha Express, Bhubaneswar-Patna weekly special, Puri-Santragachi weekly special, Bhubaneswar-Rangapara North (Assam) weekly special, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad weekly special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati weekly special, Visakhapatnam-Krishnarajpuram bi-weekly Suvidha Express and Visakhapatnam-Kollam weekly Sabarmalai Special trains.

​08451 Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Cant bi-weekly Suvidha Special train will leave Bhubaneswar at 2250 hrs o­n every Saturday and Wednesday and will reach at Bangalore Cant at 2240hrs o­n the next day between December 16 and January 27, 2016. In the return direction, 08452 Bangalore Cant-Bhubaneswar bi-weekly Suvidha Special train will leave Bangalore Cant at 0100 hrs o­n every Monday and Friday (just after midnight of Sunday & Thursday) and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 0145hrs o­n the following days between December 18 and January 29.

This train has o­ne AC-2 tier, four AC-3 tiers, 11 sleeper class coaches, two guard cum luggage vans in its composition having stoppages at Brahmapur, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Ongole, Renigunta and Jolarpettai between Bhubaneswar and Bangalore Cant from both the directions.

08449 Bhubaneswar-Patna weekly special train will leave Bhubaneswar at 1535hrs o­n every Friday and will reach Patna at 1140hrs o­n Saturdays between November 27 to January 29, 2016. In the return direction, 08450 Patna-Bhubaneswar weekly special train will leave Patna at 1400hrs o­n every Saturday and will arrive Bhubaneswar at 0700hrs o­n Sundays between November 28 and January 30, 2016.

This train has o­ne AC-2 tier, o­ne AC-3 tier, 10 sleeper class coaches, three general second class sitting coaches and two guard cum luggage vans in its composition having stoppages at Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Hijli, Adra, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Makama and Fathuha between Bhubaneswar and Patna from both the directions.

08401 Puri-Santragachi weekly special train will leave Puri at 2125hrs on every Friday and will arrive at Santragachi at 0630hrs on the following days between November 27 and January 29, 2016. In the return directions, 08402 Santragachi-Puri Express will leave Santragachi at 1900hrs on every Saturday and will reach Puri at 0400hrs on the next days between November 28 and January 30, 2016.

This train has o­ne AC-2 tiers, o­ne AC-3 tier, nine sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches and two guard cum luggage vans in its composition having stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur between Puri and Santragachi.

08439 Bhubaneswar-Rangapara North (Assam) weekly special train will leave Bhubaneswar at 2200hrs on every Sunday and will arrive at Rangapara North at 0725hrs on Tuesdays between November 29 and January 31, 2016. In the return directions, 08440 Rangapara North-Bhubaneswar Weekly Express will leave Rangapara North at 2100hrs on every Tuesday and will reach Bhubaneswar at 0530hrs Thursdays between December 1 and February 2, 2016.

This train has o­ne AC-2 tiers, o­ne AC-3 tier, ten sleeper class coaches, three general second class coaches and two guard cum luggage vans in its composition having stoppages at Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, Hijli, Midnapur, Bankura, Adra, Asansol, Durgapur, Rampurhat, Malda Town, Barsoi, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, New Mal, Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon, Barpeta Road, Rangiya, Tangla and Udalguri between Bhubaneswar and Rangapara North.

Apart from this, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special, Visakhapatnam-Krishnarajpuram Weekly Special and Visakhapatnam-Kollam Sabarmalai weekly special trains are plying during the period from ECoR jurisdiction.

These apart, a number of special trains have been planned to ply between different destinations of the country through East Coast Railway jurisdiction during this winter and will also create more berths from ECoR. Important regular trains have been planned to be augmented with additional coaches during the period by creating additional berths.​​​
