ED to probe Sarathi Baba’s accounts

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Bhubaneswar branch will probe Satyam Charitable Trust foundede by self-proclaimed godman Srimad Sarathi alias Santosh Raula.

Reliable sources in the agency said the ED has sought details of bank accounts and land documents of the Trust and Srimad Sarathi’s name. Besides, it has also sought a copy of the FIR against Srimad Sarathi from the Crime Branch, said a top ED official.

“The money trail, use of chit fund money and the accounts and financial dealings of the godman and his Trust will be probed,” he added.

In another development, the mysterious red car that had allegedly entered the Barimul ashram of Sarathi Baba a day before the Baba was arrested by Crime Branch, and allegedly shifted several documents and valuables from the ashram before it was raided by Crime Branch, has been traced.

The registration number of the car, traced at Sigmappur village near Salepur, is OD-05-K-0100.
