Electrician dies while repairing transformer in cyclone-hit Puri

Puri: In a tragic incident, an electrician died while repairing a transformer near Sadar police station here today. However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The incident has triggered resentment among other workers of the Electricity Department as they alleged that the worker died since he was forcefully engaged for the repair work.

Meanwhile, Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU) Odisha has advised consumers to check the internal wiring before restoring utility power supply to their houses. Consumers are also requested to disconnect generator (if used) to avoid back feeding to the power distribution system and any kind of electrical accident.
