Elephant, calf fall into septic tank in Odisha; rescued     

Dhenkanal: A female elephant and her calf fell into a septic tank at Talaberana village under Mahabirod Forest Range in Dhenkanal district last night. However, they were rescued by forest officials today.

Sources said the mother elephant and her calf had strayed into the village and entered into the backyard of one Pramod Pal last night. Unfortunately, the two animals fell into a septic tank in the backyard after it broken while the duo was standing on it. While the mother elephant managed get out of the tank, the calf was inside it throughout the night.

On receiving information, forest officials reached the spot this morning and rescued both the animals with the help of locals.
