Elephant calf found dead in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Carcass of a male elephant calf was found from Baniabandha reserve forest under Khuntuni forest range in Odisha’s Cuttack district district today.

The body was spotted by locals who informed the Forest officials and the latter reached the spot, recovered it and started probe.

The baby elephant’s health condition had deteriorated since last few days which led to the death, a Forest official said.

The carcass will be buried after post-mortem report is received, the official added.
