Elephant found dead in Athagarh forest
Athagarh: An elephant was found dead near Ghumaghasua hills in Rajballavpur Reserve Forest area under Khuntuni Range here today.
However, the cause behind the death of the pachyderm is yet to be ascertained.

On receiving information, Forest officials reached the spot this morning and seized the carcass. It is suspected that the elephant might have died two days back.
On November 2, a female elephant at Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district died following illness. Forest officials had found the sick female elephant during patrolling in the forest along with a calf aged around one-and-a-half-years. Though the forest officials had administered treatment to the ailing elephant, it succumbed to illness.
