Elephant tramples woman to death in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: In a tragic incident, a woman was crushed to death by an elephant near Terelo village under Narla Forest Range in Odisha’s Kalahandi district today.

According to reports, Sapuri Barik, the deceased woman, had gone to the nearby forest this morning to collect Mahula. In the meantime, an elephant attacked the woman and trampled her to death on the spot.

A pall of gloom descended on the village after the incident. As many as two persons of the village had lost their lives in elephant attack recently, sources said.
