Emmy nominee flaunts Odisha-born designer’s work

The fashion spotlight is again on Odisha-born designer Bibhu Mohapatra: this time for his designer wear adorned by American actress-singer Jane Krakowski.

Krakowski, nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category of the 67th Emmy Awards, was clad in an off-shoulder gown designed by Bibhu Mohapatra, who is based in New York.

Mohapatra, who specialises in women’s luxury wear, especially day wear, evening wear, fashion fur and accessories, shared a photograph of Krakowski wearing his creation on micro-blogging site Twitter.

“Best Supporting actress nominee janekrakowski in @bibhumohapatra #Resort16 silk Barthea gown…,” the designer tweeted.

The 67th Emmy Primetime Awards took place on Sunday in Los Angeles.

However, Krakowski lost the award to Allison Janney, who took home an Emmy for “Mom”.

In January this year, the US First Lady, Michelle Obama, landed at the New Delhi airport sporting a knee-length printed floral dress and a coat designed by Mohapatra.
