Engineer in Odisha Vigilance net

Bhubaneswar, July 11:

Vigilance sleuths of Baleswar division in Odisha today conducted simultaneous raids on the houses of Ashok Kumar Mishra, assistant executive engineer, R&B sub-division, Barbil in Keonjhar, at Silisuan, two buildings at Pabitradiha and three office rooms at Barbil following allegations of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets against him.

During the raids, the anti-corruption officials found immovable assets, including costly household articles, one Indica car and two Hero Honda motor cycles, worth Rs 10,42,000, cash deposits in different  banks, LIC and other insurance companies worth 13,99,127 and hard cash worth Rs 1,84,000 and 700 US dollars (Rs 42,000).

The immovable assets include two double-storied building at Silisuan and Pabitradiha in Keonjhar town and one plot at Khordha worth Rs 46,89,000.

The total movable and immovable assets detected during the house search so far is calculated at 73,56,127 approximately.

The raids were continuing till the reports last came in.
