Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive-2013 held at ITER

An Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD)-2013 was held recently here in Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Bhubaneswar in association with Entrepreneurship Cell of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

The event was graced by entrepreneurs Ayaskanta Mohanty – founder of Tatwa Technologies, Narasingha Panigrahi – Director at SDRC, Sudha Mishra–Founder of Little Steps and Sidharth Das, founder of Brogels who enlightened the attendees with insights into starting a successful enterprise.

The Event turned out to be a huge success with around 400 students participating from reputed colleges of the city including IIT Bhubaneswar, KIIT college, CET college and CV Raman college and many more.

Although the event is a one-day affair, the students are followed up and are encouraged to take part in the Business-plan competitions like Empresario. For ‘Empresario 2013’, a total of 2,247 entries had come. It is the biggest B-plan competition in the country with cash prize of Rs 6 lakh and a total incubation support of Rs 1.8 crore up for grabs.

“The aim is to motivate young minds towards entrepreneurial thought and action. During the drive, many colleges expressed their interest in setting up entrepreneurship promoting bodies for the benefit of their students. Activities have been initiated to set up EDCs or E-Cells in such colleges,” said a press release from the institute.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) is one of the flagship events of Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT-Kharagpur which consists of a series of guest lectures and workshops in 20 cities in 20 days in October.
