Entry fee at Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri waived

Puri: Devotees visiting the Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri from now onwards will not have to pay anything as an entry fee. The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration today took a decision in this regard.

Earlier, each devotee was charged Rs 20 as an entry fee at the Gundicha Temple.

The temple administration also decided to stop auctions for fee collection at ‘Narendra Puskarini’, ‘Rohini Kunda’, ‘Srimandir Mahalaxmi Bhandara Rosa Darshani Mahaala’, ‘Nilachala Upabana’ and ‘Koili Baikuntha’ from 2021-22 financial year. The decisions have been taken to provide free darshan and services to devotees at the temple.

An official said due to cancellation of the auction process, the temple administration is likely to lose around Rs 7 crore.

Devotees welcomed the temple administration’s decisions and stated it will increase footfalls at these religious places.
