Bhawanipatna: Kalahandi Collector Gavali Parag has imposed restriction on entry to Bhawanipatna town for two days in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 during Durga Puja and Chhatar Yatra here.
As per an official order, entry to Bhawanipatna municipality area will be allowed only for medical/emergency purpose and any other purpose specifically allowed for from 23.10.2020 to 25.10.2020.
Movement and gathering of people will be restricted to four persons at any point of time in the town from 12.00 am (midnight) of 23.10.2020 to 12.00 am (midnight) of 25.10.2020.
This order shall remain in force from 12.00 am (midnight) of 22.10.2020 to 12.00 am (midnight) of 25.10.2020.
All the Executive Magistrates, officers, officials of essential service departments carrying valid ID proofs/movement pass shall be exempted from the purview of this order.
Any person contravening this order will be prosecuted under Section 188 of IPC, the order said.
The Collector informed that participation of public in Chhatar Yatra will not be allowed this year. The event will be webcasted live through social media by the district administration. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC has also been imposed, he said.
